The Bend Science Station is an inquiry-based science education non-profit that empowers students to formulate and conduct their own research. The organization contracts with public and private schools to supplement their science programs, focusing on active lab work and experiential learning.

As part of a schematic design process, we moderated a design charette with about 20 community stakeholders, and are now developing a spatial program, conceptual design and budget for a new facility that will serve as a regional resource for science educators and students, and as an innovative and inspiring living laboratory. Among the project’s ambitious sustainability goals are carbon neutrality and meeting the "Living Building Challenge", as well as being fully instrumented to allow students to experiment on the building itself.

The Science Station has secured a site on the new Cascades Campus of Oregon State University and is in the early stages of a capital campaign.
