AN ATTIC FOR GROWNUPS

The couple who approached us for this extensive remodel asked for a space removed from the bustle of family life that dominates the rest of their Craftsman house. A mythical Amsterdam loft, crisp, modern and calm was the inspiration for this bedroom suite. We respected the historic nature of the house (on the National Registry) in thinking about windows, while taking advantage of the clean geometry of the roof to make a distinctive kind of space for adults on the interior.
